Our mission
To empower underserved children and families by connecting them with essential resources through community-driven programs.
We foster dignity, hope, and belonging by organizing food drives, secondhand goods distributions, and seasonal giving initiatives. Through collective action and shared compassion, we strive to build stronger, more resilient communities where every family has the opportunity to thrive.
What drives us
Today, our mission remains rooted in where it all began: children helping children, families helping families, and one act of kindness inspiring another.

How Always Helping Services began
How Always Helping Services began
Always Helping Services was born from a simple idea: what if a birthday could be about giving, not receiving?
Always Helping Services was born from a simple idea: what if a birthday could be about giving, not receiving?

Our story began with a mother, two daughters, and a heart for helping others. Always Helping Services was named after the three of us, and our logo, two children holding their mother’s heart, represents the love that started it all and the belief that children can make a difference.
For each birthday, we created a goal of collecting 101 items for every year a child turned.
Instead of presents, we asked for necessities like food, socks, underwear, and other items for those in need. At first, I chose who we would help. As my daughters grew older, they began choosing who they wanted to help and how they wanted to give back.
We placed a donation box outside our home for the entire birthday month, and something beautiful began to happen.
Neighbors, friends, and family started dropping off donations, and year after year, we exceeded our goals. What began as a small family tradition was becoming a community effort.
One of the most meaningful parts of our journey came through Richard J. Rundle Elementary School, where I was deeply touched by the impact of children helping children. It strengthened a mission that had already become so important to our family: teaching children that they have the ability to make a difference in someone else’s life.
As our mission grew, so did the ways we found to help. We began adopting children and families for Christmas, organizing donation drives and Friendsgivings, and encouraging others to create their own giving traditions. We even watched friends and families begin holding donation boxes for their own birthdays.
Eventually, it became clear that this was much bigger than our family. We were fortunate to build a strong and dedicated board of people who shared the same heart, passion, and vision for helping others. Together, we turned a simple birthday tradition into Always Helping Services.

Three ways we help families
Three ways we help families
Most of what we do happens through drives. We collect what families need, volunteers sort and pack it, and it goes to participating schools for the kids and families who need it.

Food Drives
Local schools provide two meals a day during the week, but not on weekends or over winter and summer breaks. Our food drives, including our canned food drive every November, help fill those gaps.
Secondhand Goods Distributions
We help connect families with clothing, household items, and other everyday essentials. We collect these during our seasonal drives, so please reach out before dropping anything off.
Seasonal Giving Initiatives
We organize holiday giving and community resource drives to bring hope and belonging. Our Christmas drive runs from mid-November through December and helps give children and families living below the poverty line a Christmas they might not otherwise have.
